KK v UT challenge 2015

Twenty eight golfers arrived at Ubolratana Golf Club for the rejuvenated Khon Kaen versus Udon Thani Golf Challenge. Behind the scenes, Mick Collins and Cliff Saveall had been building up their teams of 14 players, all of whom are familiar to each other through KK Golf.
Golfers collected on the first tee at Ubolratana GC with the trophy in the foreground.

Day 1 was a closely contested affair with Udon Thani edging proceedings on a very hot day, 4-3. All in all a successful opening day which was a credit to the pairings made by Cliff and Mick.

So then to Day 2 at Singha Park GC. Seven groups of four, each group comprising two individual singles matches, struck off from the first at Singha Park on another hot and largely cloudless day with everything to play for with only one point separating the two teams.
In the end, the second day finished all square 7-7 and therefore Udon Thani lifted the new trophy (many thanks to Steve Hoss for providing the cup).

Cliff Saveall receives the trophy from Mick Collins after a close fought competition where the winners were golf and friendships.
Many have expressed great interest in hosting another event soon, maybe making it two events per annum, home and away. On behalf of all the golfers who participated, thanks to Cliff and Mick for arranging the event and making it two great days of golf, thank you both!
